Selfishnet V0.1 Beta -
Selfishnet v0.2 alpha — now with betrayal detection.
Click the network discovery (network scan) button YouTube, 1.2.2.
Advanced users might detect ARP spoofing and know someone is restricting them. Conclusion
Selfishnet is frequently categorized as a "grey-hat" tool. While useful for troubleshooting network congestion, it can be used maliciously to deny service to others on a shared network. Modern routers with or Source Guard may detect and mitigate Selfishnet’s activities.

Settings are not permanent. If you close the application or restart your computer, the network restrictions will revert to default.
: Nodes dynamically restrict outgoing bandwidth during peak local usage, ensuring the host machine never loses performance.
Run the WinPcap installer included in the package.
While highly effective, users should be aware of the nature of Selfishnet: Selfishnet v0
Upon launch, the user selects the active Network Interface Controller (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
: Operates entirely from a host computer without requiring the administrator password to the central router.
Simultaneously, wired networking gave way to Wi-Fi. Suddenly, neighbors could see each other’s unsecured networks. The concept of "network neutrality" was still a fringe academic debate; on the ground, it was anarchy.
Technically, the software operates using a method known as ARP spoofing (or ARP poisoning). By sending specifically crafted Address Resolution Protocol messages, SelfishNet convinces other devices on the network that the host computer is the gateway (router). This forces all traffic to flow through the host machine before reaching the internet, allowing the software to monitor and throttle the data in real-time. It only works for devices connected to the same network (e.g., home Wi-Fi) and cannot control devices on a different subnet.
Works best on Windows 7, but compatible with Windows 10/11 if run in compatibility mode YouTube, 1.2.1.
Because ARP spoofing requires low-level control over network hardware, SelfishNet must always be executed by right-clicking the application and selecting Is SelfishNet Safe and Legal?
: Completely cut off internet access for specific users with a single checkbox. No Router Login Required : Works by using ARP Spoofing
Note: As this software is quite old, consider looking for the more stable "SelfishNetV3" version if you encounter stability issues with the v0.1 Beta. If you'd like, I can:
